A Tribute to Photography

The PBS Aperture Priority Keycaps are a homage to the world of vintage cameras and photography. Drawing inspiration from iconic designs such as the Helios 42-2, Leica, and Super8, these keycaps capture the essence of simple, functional aesthetics and the comfort of a well-crafted grip. Each keycap is meticulously crafted to reflect the charm and functionality of classic photographic equipment.

Craftsmanship and Quality

Made from durable PBT plastic, the PBS Aperture Priority Keycaps are built to last. Utilizing dye-sublimation technology, these keycaps offer a tactile experience that is both satisfying and long-lasting. Whether you're a casual typist or a professional writer, the PBS Aperture Priority Keycaps provide an excellent typing experience that is sure to enhance your daily use.

The PBS Aperture Priority Keycaps come in two configurations to suit a variety of keyboard layouts:

Base (143 keys): Perfect for standard layouts, this configuration offers a comprehensive set of keycaps that fit seamlessly with most traditional keyboards.
40s/Ortho (130 keys): Ideal for compact, small form-factor, and ortholinear keyboards, this configuration is perfect for those who prefer a minimalist setup.

What is PBS Profile?

In 2022, Matt3o conceived the idea of "Penguin Belly Slide" or PBS for short, a new keycap profile profile. PBS is a uniform profile keycap design where every row has the same shape, often referred to as "flat profile" keycaps. Uniform profile keycaps offer great flexibility!

Since every row has the same shape, you can move keycaps between different rows. When using split keyboards, low-angle or even negative-angle keyboards, flat keyboards, or tented keyboards, uniform profile keycaps typically provide a better typing experience. Uniform keycaps also perform well on traditionally angled keyboards, and most modern Apple keyboards and laptop keyboards use a uniform keycap profile.

Moreover, compared to keycaps with varying row profiles, uniform keycaps make it easier to achieve a consistent typing sound across the keyboard.

Advantages of PBS Profile

PBS profile is moderately low, with the highest point slightly above 7mm. The outer surface of the keycaps is optimized for ergonomics—the front and back are cylindrical sections, while the front (contact area) is a spherical section, providing a spacious concave contact surface for your fingers to rest on, resulting in a better typing feel.

Join the community of keycap enthusiasts and elevate your typing experience with the PBS Aperture Priority Keycaps.
